Robin Leonard Originally from Buckinghamshire, Robin studied graphic design at Dunstable and moved to Cornwall 1981. During the 1980Õs Robin spent much time experimenting and developing his individual style of painting combining this with more formal employment such as his work as an illustrator on the Saints Way project. Although Robin refuses to admit to specialising in any particular subject matter the majority of his paintings do depict coastal scenes. His paintings, both oil and watercolour are normally executed entirely on site, where very often the elements play role in the formation. Rain spots, wind blown sand, a moment is captured and the finished painting has a tangible association with the subject. Robin has painted professionally since the late 1980Õs, with paintings going to private collections both in the UK and abroad. In recent years he has also developed an individual style of framing for his work. During the 1990Õs Robin has exhibited with the RBA, the King Georges Fund for Sailors in both Plymouth and Falmouth, and the Royal Cornwall Polytechnic Society also in Falmouth. |
