item6Peter Graham

Peter’s stone carvings, often featuring bird and animal forms are notable for their energy and elegance. For Peter, the material is the key to the sculpture. The stone for each sculpture is selected from the rich geological variety found in the British Isles. The aim is to create a perfect harmony between the character of the subject and the qualities of the material it is carved from.

Peter first studied sculpture at Lancaster University, graduating in 1989 and has concentrated on stone as a medium since gaining a diploma in Historic stone carving at the City & Guilds of London Art School. Most of Peter’s work takes the form of commissions whether public or private. These can take the form of figurative or lettering work. His work can now be seen across the British Isles, from Northumberland to Cornwall. Peter has his workshop and studio based just outside Fowey in Cornwall.
