item6Josephine Robinson

I would like to quote the poet, Philip Larkin, who in his succinct manner, describes all we can hope for from our creative endeavours.

This quote is as applicable to painting, as it is to poetry, neither being far removed from the other.

“I think that a poem should be understood at first reading, line by line, but I don’t think it should be exhausted at first reading.

I hope that what I write gives the reader something when they first read it, in fact, enough to make them read it again”.
